Microsoft is now selling HoloLens 2 on the Microsoft Store

Microsoft's HoloLens 2 headset was first announced in February 2019, although it didn't start shipping until Ignite that November. If you wanted one though, you had to go through a certain process. Now, it's available for anyone to buy on the Microsoft Store.

Note that this doesn't change the price, which is still $3,500. It also doesn't change the target audience. If you're expecting that since anyone can order a HoloLens 2 and it will arrive in a couple days that this is somehow a consumer model, you're mistaken.

Unlike the first-generation HoloLens, the second-gen model actually uses an ARM processor, specifically the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 Compute Platform. It also includes more advanced features like eye tracking and hand tracking, making it easier to interact with. The untethered holographic PC is also lighter with more balanced weight, and is meant to be easier to use for people with glasses.

If you want to check out the HoloLens 2 on the Microsoft Store, you can find it here. Currently, it says that it will be delivered in two to three days.
