A few days back, Microsoft entered a partnership with Spain's premier football association LaLiga, utilizing Power BI amid other services for providing an improved streaming platform as well as streamlining of stadium operations. Last month, meanwhile, Power BI Premium and Pro received object-level security.

Today, on the first day of Build 2021, Microsoft has announced new features and capabilities for its data analytics service.

The Embedded variant of Power BI now offers users the ability to embed Power BI analytics reports in Jupyter Notebooks in preview. Embedded Analytics enable data app developers to engage directly with data and generate reports as per their requirements.

Power BI Premium has received new additions and improvements as well. To start off, Automation APIs that help cater to deployment pipeline capabilities have been added, allowing developers to use Azure DevOps, Azure Pipeline, or similar tools, to "automate the deployment of Power BI assets and integrate into their existing app deployment framework."

Similarly real-time analytics and big data improvements are on show as well, with streaming dataflows and automatic aggregation being the headliners. Going in preview in June, the features will help enable a more efficient report creation and consumption process. The former capability will allow for the incorporation of real-time data in a more user-friendly way by report creators. The latter, meanwhile, will allow for commonly used queries and reports containing large datasets to be remembered in a quicker fashion. The overall significance of these introductions has been highlighted as being "key to using data more efficiently to inform good business decisions".
